Ready to change your brain and let go of bitterness and pain? Are you having a hard time letting?
Ruts of bitterness running through your brain? Ready to grow fresh green leaves instead? Me too! We just need to make some intentional choices that will facilitate letting go of bitterness.
My choices and thoughts create either that ugly muddy river OR fresh green leaves with healthy veins throughout. That’s a lot of power you have over your brain! You can let go of pain and bitterness!
“Do not be conformed any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – His good, pleasing and perfect will.:
Romans 12:2
We must remember: you control your brain, your brain does not control you.
When we find ourselves ruminating on toxic thoughts, we need to visualize what that thought is doing to our brain. Picture that muddy water, stagnant and breeding disgusting things. That is the bitter root that we must get rid of.
Additionally, we need to align with God. This is how the healing of our bitter root will manifest. The thoughts you build are for your healing (or destruction).
We can bring healing and health to our mind and our body, through nurturing healing waters to clear out the stagnant smelly river. By planting our new healthy thoughts in fertile ground and encouraging them to grow.
Think Through What are the Underlying Issues
“Forgiveness is a commitment to a personalized process of change.”
Mayo Clinic, Letting Go of Grudges
Confusion and lack of communication from those we are struggling with can often lead to redundant and obsessive thinking as our brain desperately works to understand things. Because people are so very human, their actions or lack of actions can be most confusing.
Here is the goal; to be free to love and accept those who have hurt us deeply, where they are – without fear of recrimination. To do this and keep our sanity, we must have healthy boundaries firmly in place. There needs to be no sense of loss of self when we interact with our offenders. If there is, you must take another look at your boundaries and establish firmer limits.

Letting Go of Bitterness
These are deep waters where we must allow God to work, as we cooperate. You see, for the deep, deep peace of God to come to full fruition, every last root of bitterness must go. Every tendril.
When we are abiding in the center of God’s will, this is where real learning happens. Good thoughts get stronger and obsessive negative thoughts to lessen. We will be aware of this happening on different levels as we rewire our brains to be in alignment with the Word of Yah/God. Only He can truly dig out the bitter root, as the master gardener that He is.
These new healthy thoughts are life! Blessings! Growth!
Through letting go of bitterness and replacing that bitter root with thoughts of grace and love we become whole. Our understanding deepens. We become encouraged and gain deeper clarity.
Literally, Mind over Matter
Think about it this way; if our soul is equated with our mind, there is a great hope for overcoming the bitter root you may be struggling with.
We need to observe ourselves and take charge; bringing our thoughts and actions into captivity for Messiah’s sake. We must refuse to be a victim of our own brains. We CAN rewire our brains to function as He created us.
and every arrogance that raises itself up against the knowledge of God; we take every thought captive and make it obey the Messiah.
2 Corinthians 10:5
Toxic thoughts can become ‘but wisps’. Freedom from toxicity will come as you obey and trust and let your faith in YHVH grow.
Tips for Changing Your Brain

You Can Do Hard Things Including Letting Go of Bitterness
He can guide you, and you can do hard things with Yahshua/Jesus’ help. Scared? Do it scared
When even the tiniest offense is stirred up in you? Turn it to grace! Choose to not be offended.
Allow the Ruach ha Kodesh (Holy Spirit) to shine a torch on your conscious and to enlighten you and encourage you to deal with any bitter root of thought patterns now or in the future.
What bitterness is He asking you to let go of today? Be specific, one bitterness at a time and this mountain will be gone.
He Will Plant Eternity in Your Heart and Mind
Pray that your heart and mind will be properly weeded of all toxic thoughts. That there will be no bitter root left. Allow no trace of toxicity to be left behind. We must focus on less concern with ourselves and more with our Creator. May He rule and reign and fill us with His divine sense of purpose. Out with me and in with YHVH.
Is the Mountain Being Cast into the Sea?
As your muddy rut becomes a clear spring you will find that your good thinking is more consolidated and stronger.
Healthy thoughts are growing….toxic thoughts are going!
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
Abba Father, thank you for being our Master Gardener.
As we turn wholly to Him with our hands open to receive the Ruach’s (Holy Spirit’s) guiding, we can work through any bitterness and toxicity that is weighing us down. We will begin and work through the process of letting go of bitterness.
Release the bitter root the Holy Spirit shows you at the foot of the cross, praising His grace and mercy. Thank Him that He knows the way out, be focused and specific.
Praise Yah, He is by your side and will work with you through your pain. Through your worship of Him, He will move on your behalf. Raise your hands in worship as you lay it all down and let go of the issue(s).
