Book Review of Boundaries A Life-Changer of a Book!

Short Book Review of Boundaries – A Life-Changing Book!

Finally, I am writing my book review of Boundaries! I always meant to read this book, Boundaries – I really should have years ago. But it took great pain and rejection to get me to crack the cover finally. Wow. Life would have played out a wee bit differently had I embraced the concepts within it sooner.

Never too late! You can say no and set Boundaries!

My main takeaway in this book review of Boundaries: Say no when you want and set those boundaries!

Do it Scared! Set those Boundaries!

In sitting down to write this book review of Boundaries I realized that taking control back of your life can be scary when you have a lifetime habit of doing what you think is expected of you. What you think will make others happy. What you think you have to do…

In reality, you must embrace your fear to get to the place where you understand that Boundaries are like fences at an elementary school playground. You just feel safer with the boundary. It becomes comfortable playing right against the fence because it is there.

“But, I can’t! ” your brain screams at you! Well, your mind, body, and soul will suffer if you don’t. Sorry to be blunt, but once you have read even the first couple of chapters of this important book, you will be nodding in agreement with me. Hopefully, you will be blessed by reading this book review of Boundaries, but don’t just read the review! You need to dive into the book to really glean the gold that is there!

Are Boundaries Biblical? This Book Review of Boundaries Says YES!

In reality, yes, they are! I didn’t understand that prior to reading this book. But wow, Cloud and Townsend really lay out clear logical proof that indeed Boundaries are not only Biblical, but they are also mandated!

boundaries are biblical protection

Do you know how Yahshua/Jesus actually made the laws harder? Now just being angry is murder? Just lusting is adultery? These were Biblical fences/boundaries Messiah was putting up for our safety! Because He loves us! How easy do you think it will be to murder or commit adultery if you don’t get angry or indulge lustful thoughts?

Boundaries are Freedom, True Freedom

If anyone chooses to ignore your boundaries, it is up to you to enforce it. Boundaries keep out the toxic and protect you and your loved ones. Think of it as locking your door while you sleep.

You are not being mean. You will learn to set up each needed boundary with love and kindness. Others may resist you, so you may want to build your boundaries slowly as you learn to hold strong.

Do not apologize for your boundaries. It is your life to live your way, to overcome, thrive and be free.

Boundaries never too late

ps- Boundaries are actually really helpful to others too…it makes things clear and they know where it is okay to play!

  1. I wish I would have set more boundaries in high school and college. I felt like I said “yes” to things I didn’t really want to do, like going out to a club or hanging around people I didn’t really think were positive influences. Now that I’m in my late 20s, I have no problem saying NO!

I love your analogy of boundaries being like locking your door. This is a feeling I get when I think about having control in my life and being at peace with saying no to someone.
