When it comes to improving your mental health, through mental self-care tips, there are several practices that you can adopt to feel a lot better. One might work better for you than the other, or some might work equally as well for you.

Mediation essentially involves sitting comfortably in silence, not thinking of anything at all, and just letting your body be still. You can close your eyes to prevent yourself from being distracted. 

You let go of thinking and simply let your body relax. Mediation is a great way to reset after a stressful event. If a thought takes over, you gently sweep it away.

Deep breathing is another excellent mental self-care tip.

Moreover, deep breathing can often go hand in hand with mediation, though you can do engage in deep breathing at any time.  Using deep breathing to relax your body and mind is key.

We often let ourselves get pushed around and trampled on by others, especially when we don’t put up proper boundaries. Only allow others to influence your decisions so much before you simply say no.
